ART MONTH BLOG

  • Christopher Horder, Berlin Zeit @ Liverpool Street Gallery

Posted on Thursday, March 31, 2011

Liverpool Street Gallery sits snugly in the centre of the prospering visual art scene of Sydney and has shown artists from the UK, United States and, of course, Australia. Australian Galleries

Australian Galleries was established in Melbourne in 1956 by Tam and Anne Purves, pioneers of the professional exhibiting and marketing of contemporary art in Australia. The gallery developed a reputation for representing prominent Australian artists such as John Brack, John Olsen, Fred Williams and Brett Whiteley. Now under the sole directorship of Stuart Purves, Australian Galleries continues to represent significant contemporary Australian artists including Jeffrey Smart, Inge King, William Robinson, John Coburn, Garry Shead, Colin Lanceley, John Wolseley, Peter Neilson and Lewis Miller. Now with two galleries in Sydney and four in Melbourne, the success of Australian Galleries is a reflection of the passion and commitment to the artists it represents.
